Lou, autodidact op gitaar, speelde in groepen met verschillende stijlen zoals Pasadena Dreamband (disco), Top Secret met saxofonist Toon Roos (fusion), Batida met zanger Joseé Koning (Braziliaans), Brigitte Kaandorp (cabaretier), Big Black & Beautiful (theater). Hij produceerde het eerste solo-album (It’s Happening) van jazzgitarist Martijn van Iterson en was vaste gast in de North Sea Jazz Club in A’dam. In 2012 verscheen zijn album That’s It met elf nummers in de stijl smooth jazz, allemaal geschreven door Lou. Opnieuw uitgebracht in 2020.
In 2021 speelt Lou bij Licks & Brains (NU jazz bigband). Licks & Brains werkte en nam op met verschillende bekende artiesten zoals Eric Vloeimans, Joseph Bowie, Anton Goudsmit en Benjamin Herman.

In 2012 his album That's It was released with eleven songs in the style of smooth jazz, all written by Lou. Re-released in 2020.
